We were thrilled to be a part of an exciting and meaningful campaign at Mams Mall! On the 20th of July 2024, from 08:00 to 15:00, we rolled up our sleeves and got our hands dirty for a great cause—cleaning up our community as part of the mall’s Mandela Day initiative.
Why We Were Excited
Mandela Day is all about giving back and making a positive impact, and this year, we took hands with Mams Mall who focused on environmental sustainability and community health. Our goals for this campaign were:
- Giving back to the community: We honoured Mandela’s legacy by doing something meaningful for the people around us.
- Promoting environmental awareness: It was crucial to understand the importance of a clean environment, not just for aesthetics but for our health and well-being.
- Ensuring environmental sustainability: By keeping our surroundings clean, we contributed to a healthier planet.
- Creating a safe, clean, and healthy environment: A tidy area reduces the risk of diseases that thrive in dirty environments.
How We Made It Happen
To make this event a success, we helped with the clean-up. We contributed safety gloves, waste vehicle and Smart Waste man power to support.

A huge shoutout also goes to the Smart Waste team for heading up this project. Their dedication and leadership were instrumental in organizing this event, and we couldn’t have done it without them.
It was a day filled with community spirit and environmental stewardship, and we were proud to have been a part of it. Together, we made a difference and honoured Mandela’s legacy in a meaningful way.
